Guwahati, 30 June (HS): In a major blow to drug traffickers, Cachar Police recovered 10,000 Yaba tablets valued at nearly ₹1 crore during an intelligence-based operation in the district. One person was arrested after the contraband was found inside a covert facility disguised as a furniture shop.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the successful operation, noting that it came within 24 hours of another significant drug seizure in the state. He said the back-to-back recoveries reflect Assam Police's sustained campaign against narcotics under the Assam Against Drugs initiative.

The arrested accused has been taken into custody, while investigators are working to trace the origin of the seized consignment and uncover the wider network involved in the illegal trade.----------
