
Patna, June 30 (HS): A court in Patna on Tuesday extended protection from arrest to educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, till July 3 in connection with a case relating to a firing incident at his coaching institute.
Khan was named in an FIR after his security guards allegedly opened fire when miscreants vandalised his coaching institute earlier this month. The court had initially granted him protection from arrest on June 9, which was subsequently extended until June 30.
During Tuesday's hearing, the court extended the no coercive action order till the next hearing on July 3.
The court also sought details of the arms licences of Khan Sir's two security guards, who are currently in judicial custody. Their bail applications will also be heard on July 3.
The case relates to an incident on June 2 when miscreants allegedly vandalised the coaching institute and resorted to stone-pelting, following which the security guards allegedly opened fire.
One of the accused in the vandalism case, Roshan Anand, is currently out on bail.
