
Mumbai, 30 June (HS): In another shock to Uddhav
Balasaheb Thackeray Sena, its leader Sachin Ahir on Tuesday resigned from all
the positions he held in the party and filed nomination papers for the post of
Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council. The possibility of his joining
Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) is very high.
Ahir was accompanied by Chief Minister Devendra
Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, ministers
Chandrakant Patil and Sanjay Shirsat and others.
After filing the nomination papers Ahir posted on
social media that he is not supported by any party or member. However, he
decided take the steps for service to the people in his constituency.
Fadnavis said that the day is for a shock to UBT
Sena. Any further comment is not required.
Ahit may not face any action, as he is MLC since the
Shiv Sena broke into two factions in 2022. His membership will be retained as
Shiv Sena candidate.
The election for the position is scheduled for July
1.
