Guwahati, 30 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that prosperous farmers are the foundation of a prosperous Assam and reaffirmed the state government's commitment to making essential public services more accessible to the farming community.

In a social media post, the Chief Minister stated that the government is transforming Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS) into Integrated Rural Service Centres to provide a wide range of essential services under one roof.

He said the initiative would create a simple yet robust system by improving access to technology, financial services, and various welfare schemes at the village level. According to the Chief Minister, the move will empower farmers, enhance self-reliance and contribute to the overall prosperity of rural Assam.----------
