Basic education to get a new base, children's school

transition will be smooth: Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh

Mapping to be completed in mission mode by June 30, data

will be uploaded on U-DISE and Hot Cooked Meal portal

Mapping will be done as per standards; District Basic Education

Officer and District Prog Officer will do joint verification

Lucknow, 27 June (HS): Under the leadership of Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is taking major steps to

strengthen early childhood education. In accordance with the National Education

Policy 2020, the co-location and scientific mapping of all Anganwadi centers in

the state with primary schools has been initiated in mission mode.

State Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent

Charge) Sandeep Singh said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath, coordination between Anganwadi centers and primary schools is

essential to give a new foundation to basic education. Co-location and mapping

will systematically prepare children for schooling.

He stated that ensuring the integrated benefits of

education, nutrition, and health services will strengthen the quality of basic

education and children's learning outcomes. This initiative will be an

important step towards strengthening Balvatika, the Nipun Bharat Mission, and

basic education. The government's goal is to ensure a smooth and orderly

transition for every child entering Class 1 from Anganwadi.

The campaign, being run under the joint guidelines of the

Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Women and Child Development,

Government of India, aims to strengthen pre-school readiness, ensure effective

integration of education, nutrition and health services, and strengthen the

smooth transition of children from Anganwadi to school.

In this regard, Director General of School Education and

State Project Director Monica Rani and Director of Child Development Services

and Nutrition Harshita Mathur have issued joint instructions. For effective,

transparent, and timely implementation of the campaign, the District Program

Officer and District Basic Education Officer will jointly verify the mapping,

U-DISE updates, and data uploading processes on the portal in all districts.

The mapping of all Anganwadi centers and Class 1 council

schools will be completed in mission mode by June 30. The U-DISE code of the

respective schools will be entered and the necessary details will be updated on

the U-DISE and Hot Cooked Meal portals, ensuring uniformity in the data of both

departments and coordination in the implementation of the schemes.

Anganwadi centers operating on school premises will be

registered as co-located Anganwadi centers. Centers located outside the school

premises will be linked to the corresponding primary school based on distance.

Centers located within 200 meters will be mapped to that school so that hot

cooked meals prepared there can reach children on time. Where sufficient space

is not available on school premises, mapping will be done with the nearest

school. Schools located within 500 meters in urban areas and 1 kilometer in

rural areas will be given priority. In all districts, the District Program

Officer and District Basic Education Officer will jointly verify the mapping,

U-DISE update, and data upload process on the portal. This will ensure data

accuracy, transparency, and timely implementation.
