Guwahati, 27 June (HS): In a move aimed at enhancing passenger amenities and upgrading railway infrastructure, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has commissioned an architectural facade lighting system at Lumding Railway Station, giving the historic junction a vibrant new identity while improving its visibility and ambience during night hours.

The project features the installation of energy-efficient RGB LED facade lighting with programmable illumination effects, ensuring uniform lighting across the station's frontage, domes, columns and other architectural structures. Weatherproof outdoor fixtures and durable cabling have also been installed to ensure uninterrupted performance in all weather conditions.

The LED-based lighting system not only enhances the station's visual appeal but also supports sustainable infrastructure through reduced energy consumption and lower maintenance requirements. The illuminated facade has transformed Lumding Junction into a prominent landmark of Northeast Frontier Railway, reflecting the zone's commitment to modern, eco-friendly and passenger-centric development.

The initiative is part of NFR's ongoing efforts to combine functionality with architectural excellence by creating railway stations that are modern, sustainable and visually appealing. Railway officials said such projects will continue to improve passenger experience while strengthening world-class railway infrastructure across the Northeast.-----------
