
Guwahati, 27 June (HS): A mild earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale struck Assam early Saturday morning, triggering brief panic among residents. The tremor was recorded at 4:51:16 a.m.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake's epicentre was located in Cachar district at a depth of 42 km beneath the surface. The coordinates of the epicentre were recorded at 24.940° North latitude and 92.562° East longitude.
The tremors prompted several residents to rush out of their homes as a precaution. However, there were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage to property.
The administration is closely monitoring the situation and has urged people to remain alert while assuring that no adverse impact has been reported so far. ----------
