
Bhubaneswar, 24 June (H.S.): Odisha Vigilance has arrested Padmalochan Nayak, Executive Engineer of the Command Area Development Authority (CADA), Sambalpur Division, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case. He is being forwarded to the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur, on Wednesday.
The arrest followed extensive searches conducted by Vigilance officials at properties linked to Nayak. During the raids, he was allegedly found in possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to Vigilance sources, the assets detected include three buildings, including a multi-storeyed building spread over 18,840 square feet in Cuttack, 18 valuable plots, cash worth Rs 3.45 lakh, three four-wheelers, two JCB machines, a tractor, a trailer, and other movable and immovable properties.
Officials stated that Nayak failed to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the acquisition of these assets during the investigation.
Following the findings, Odisha Vigilance registered Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 07/2026 against Padmalochan Nayak under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
Further investigation into the case is underway to ascertain the full extent of the assets and their sources.
