Prayagraj, 24 June (HS): To protect soil health and increase

crop productivity in agriculture, an awareness campaign on the topic of

Balanced Fertilizer Use was organized in the villages of Manapur

and Bakshena, Development Block Sahason, Prayagraj district, on Wednesday.

Farmers were made aware of balanced nutrient management and soil health during

the program.

As keynote speakers, Dr. Hare Krishna and Dr. Hiranmay Das,

Principal Scientists at the Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi,

provided detailed information on advanced cultivation, nutrition management,

and production techniques for vegetable crops. They highlighted to farmers the

importance of using scientific techniques and balanced fertilizers in vegetable

production.

On this occasion, Dr. Mukesh P. Masih, in-charge of Krishi

Vigyan Kendra Prayagraj, made the farmers aware about the importance of soil

health, soil testing and maintaining the fertility of the land through the use

of balanced nutrients. During the program, farmers were told that balanced use

of fertilizers based on soil testing reduces production costs and increases

crop quality and productivity. Approximately 80 farmers enthusiastically

participated in this awareness campaign and received information on various

agricultural topics from agricultural scientists. The programme concluded with

the farmers expressing their gratitude to the scientists.
