
Prayagraj, 24 June (HS): To protect soil health and increase
crop productivity in agriculture, an awareness campaign on the topic of
Balanced Fertilizer Use was organized in the villages of Manapur
and Bakshena, Development Block Sahason, Prayagraj district, on Wednesday.
Farmers were made aware of balanced nutrient management and soil health during
the program.
As keynote speakers, Dr. Hare Krishna and Dr. Hiranmay Das,
Principal Scientists at the Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi,
provided detailed information on advanced cultivation, nutrition management,
and production techniques for vegetable crops. They highlighted to farmers the
importance of using scientific techniques and balanced fertilizers in vegetable
production.
On this occasion, Dr. Mukesh P. Masih, in-charge of Krishi
Vigyan Kendra Prayagraj, made the farmers aware about the importance of soil
health, soil testing and maintaining the fertility of the land through the use
of balanced nutrients. During the program, farmers were told that balanced use
of fertilizers based on soil testing reduces production costs and increases
crop quality and productivity. Approximately 80 farmers enthusiastically
participated in this awareness campaign and received information on various
agricultural topics from agricultural scientists. The programme concluded with
the farmers expressing their gratitude to the scientists.
