Bhubaneswar, 24 June (H.S.): Bhubaneswar, June 24, 2026: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale paid a courtesy visit to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Athawale and the Chief Minister held discussions on various issues related to social justice and welfare initiatives in the state. The deliberations focused on strengthening cooperation between the Centre and the State to ensure the effective implementation of social welfare programmes and social security measures.

Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the importance of close coordination between the Central and State Governments in delivering welfare benefits to the people. He stated that both governments would continue to work in complete synergy to further strengthen the social security framework and ensure that public welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently.

Highlighting Odisha’s commitment to social protection, the Chief Minister briefed the Union Minister on several key initiatives being undertaken by the state government. He informed Athawale that the government has decided to include an additional six lakh beneficiaries under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana, significantly expanding the reach of the social security scheme.
