Guwahati, 22 June (HS): The inaugural programme of Ambubachi Mela 2026 will be inaugurated at Pandu Port in Guwahati on Monday evening from 6:30 pm, marking the formal commencement of one of the largest spiritual congregations in the Northeast.

Assam Tourism Minister Ajanta Neog will inaugurate the mela as the chief guest at the opening ceremony. The programme is expected to witness the participation of devotees, saints, officials and members of the public.

The annual Ambubachi Mela at Maa Kamakhya Dham is being held from June 22 to 26, with lakhs of devotees from across the country and abroad expected to visit the shrine during the festival. The state government has made extensive arrangements for accommodation, transportation, security, sanitation and other essential services to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.-----------
