
Jhansi, 21 June (HS): Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of
Uttar Pradesh, commemorated International Yoga Day at the historic Jhansi Fort.
He led state-level yoga sessions focused on the theme of Healthy Ageing and
praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for securing global recognition for
India's traditional wellness practices. The main event was held at the historic
Jhansi Fort (Khande Rao Gate area), where the CM was joined by cabinet
ministers, local public representatives, and thousands of enthusiastic
participants.
The Chief Minister Yogi urged citizens to incorporate yoga
into their daily routine. He credited PM Narendra Modi's vision at the United
Nations with transforming an ancient practice into a global movement,
emphasizing its impact on preventive healthcare and physical fitness. District
magistrates, local administrators, and ministers were deployed throughout Uttar
Pradesh to lead yoga camps in public parks, riverbanks, and community grounds.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath says, We are all
grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has given global recognition to
India's traditions and heritage, and has presented a vision for all of us,
allowing 140 crore Indians to move forward with pride in the world, and to
realise the vision of Viksit Bharat. You would have seen that the Prime
Minister personally travels to different states each year to help these International
Yoga Day activities reach new heights of success. It is my excellent fortune to
be able to participate in this year's International Yoga Day event on this
historic site in Jhansi.” Yogi Adityanath was honored with a sapling on stage
at the International Day of Yoga ceremony held at Jhansi Fort Ground.
Meanwhile, UP CM remarked in a post on X, “On the occasion
of the 12th International Yoga Day, after participating in the collective yoga
practice program organized today in the district of Jhansi, I will also
inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 88 development projects costing
more than Rs. 697 crore in the valorous land of Alha-Udal, Mahoba, and 75
development projects costing more than Rs. 636 crore in Hamirpur, the historic
center of Bundelkhand. Today's day will be dedicated to the consciousness of
yoga, the commitment to development, and the boundless possibilities of
Bundelkhand.”
