Guwahati, 02June (HS): Signs of internal discord have surfaced within the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee following the suspension of the appointment of Tanzil Hussain as Vice-President of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress.
The Congress high command has reportedly put Tanzil Hussain’s appointment on hold for an indefinite period. The decision comes shortly after his appointment was announced, triggering discussions over differences within the party ranks.
Sources indicate that objections raised by the camp associated with Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaurav Gogoi played a key role in the issuance of the stay order on Hussain’s appointment.
Tanzil Hussain had been appointed to the post of Youth Congress Vice-President by Zubeir Alam. However, following the intervention of the party leadership, the appointment has now been kept in abeyance until further orders.
The development has intensified speculation about factional differences within the state Congress unit, even as party leaders have yet to issue a detailed public statement on the matter.------------
