
Srinagar, 16 June (H.S.): Seven people have been booked in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir for the consumption of banned drugs, police said on Tuesday.
In Bijbehara, police, in coordination with a medical team, conducted tests using a rapid drug detection kit, a police spokesperson said.
During the exercise, five people tested positive for drug consumption and separate cases were registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, he said.
According to the spokesperson, Kokernag police station received reliable information about two persons found at separate locations under suspicious circumstances.
Both were apprehended and subjected to medical examination. Their test reports came back positive for drug consumption and they were booked under the NDPS Act, the police spokesperson said.
