
Bhubaneswar, 16 June (H.S.) : Ahead of the visit of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Odisha on June 19 and 20, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday conducted a high-level review meeting to assess security arrangements and administrative preparedness for the high-profile events.
The visit coincides with the completion of two years of the Odisha Government and twelve years of the Central Government. To ensure smooth conduct of the programme and flawless security management, the Chief Minister chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan.
Senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), Additional Chief Secretary (Home), and other top administrative officers, participated in the meeting. Detailed discussions were held on event planning, security protocols, crowd management, and coordination among various departments. The Chief Minister directed all agencies to work in close coordination to ensure error-free arrangements, particularly during the movement of VVIP dignitaries and the mega public gathering.
According to the review, President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in her home district of Mayurbhanj on June 19 for a two-day visit. A significant highlight of the tour will be the President’s birthday on June 20. On the occasion, she will be present in her birthplace and first karmabhoomi, Rairangpur, making the event a matter of pride and celebration for the people of Odisha.
The Chief Minister noted that special arrangements have been made by the state government and local administration to welcome the President in her native region.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Rairangpur on June 20 and join President Murmu at a historic state-level celebration. The two leaders will share the stage and address a massive public gathering in Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj district.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed confidence that the joint visit would further accelerate Odisha’s development trajectory and strengthen ongoing growth initiatives in the state.
The visit is also expected to mark a major milestone in Odisha’s development agenda. During the programme, the President and the Prime Minister will jointly inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several key projects worth thousands of crores of rupees for Odisha and Mayurbhanj district.
Among the major initiatives expected to be unveiled are long-awaited railway infrastructure projects and a mega coal gasification project. Additionally, on June 19, President Murmu is scheduled to inaugurate various healthcare development projects at the Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Hospital.
The review meeting was attended by the Chief Minister’s Advisor, Prakash Mishra; Chief Secretary Anu Garg; Director General of Police Y. B. Khurania; Development Commissioner D. K. Singh; Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shashwat Mishra; Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Information & Public Relations Department, Hemant Sharma; and Intelligence Director General Binaytosh Mishra, among other senior officials.
