Bhubaneswar, 16 June (H.S.): The Odisha government on Tuesday conducted a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan to assess preparedness and ensure the smooth, secure and hassle-free conduct of the upcoming NEET re-examination scheduled for June 21.

The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg and attended by senior officials from various departments. Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Hemant Sharma also joined the review process and interacted with district collectors through virtual mode to evaluate arrangements being made at the district level.

During the meeting, officials were instructed to ensure comprehensive logistical support for candidates appearing in the examination. District administrations have been directed to make adequate transportation arrangements, including the availability of buses and other vehicles, to facilitate the timely movement of students to their respective examination centres.

The state government also emphasized the need for strict adherence to examination protocols. Supervisors, police personnel and executive magistrates deployed on examination duty have been directed to reach their assigned centres well in advance and perform their responsibilities with utmost diligence. Officials warned that any lapse or negligence in examination management would be viewed seriously.

To maintain a safe and conducive environment, examination centres will undergo sanitisation prior to the test. District collectors have also been instructed to conclude International Yoga Day programmes by 8 a.m. on June 21 to prevent any disruption to examination-related arrangements.

The government further directed authorities to ensure the availability of essential facilities, including safe drinking water and medical assistance, at all examination venues. Special attention is being given to student welfare and convenience to ensure a stress-free examination experience.

The review meeting comprehensively examined logistical, administrative and security arrangements across the state, with officials reaffirming their commitment to conducting the NEET re-examination in a fair, transparent and orderly manner.
