
Srinagar, 16 June (H.S.): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday laid foundation stones for two sewage treatment plants to improve sanitation and safeguard water bodies in the city.
Foundation stone was laid for the 2.5 MLD (million litres per day) Sewage Treatment Plant at Chattabal and augmentation of the 17.08 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant at Brari Nambal, Srinagar, the chief minister's office said on X.
It said these key projects will strengthen the city's waste water treatment infrastructure, improve sanitation, safeguard water bodies and support a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable city.
