Silchar (Assam), 15 June (HS): A woman gave birth to a baby girl aboard a moving train travelling from Agartala to Silchar on Monday, in an incident that highlighted the timely assistance provided by fellow passengers and railway personnel.

According to reports, the woman went into labour while the train was en route. Amid the emergency, a fellow female passenger stepped forward and assisted in the delivery, ensuring the safety of both the mother and the newborn.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and railway authorities were subsequently informed and coordinated for rescue efforts. The mother and her newborn daughter were safely shifted for medical care after the train reached the designated station.

Both the mother and child are reported to be safe, while passengers and railway officials praised the woman who came to the family's aid during the critical situation.----------
