
Hyderabad, 15 June (HS): The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, has forecast rain across Telangana till June 21 and issued a yellow alert for the state.
According to the weather department, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and squally winds are likely to occur in several parts of the state till June 17.
From June 18 to 21, Telangana is likely to witness heavy rainfall in some areas, prompting the issuance of the yellow alert.
The alert will remain in force till June 21, the IMD said.
The weather department has also forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds in Hyderabad till June 17.
Meanwhile, several districts in Telangana have received rainfall over the past few days. However, temperatures continue to remain high in many parts of the state.
According to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), the highest maximum temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Peddapalli district on Sunday.
In Hyderabad, the highest temperature recorded was 37.7 degrees Celsius at Nampally.
