
Lakhimpur (Assam), 15 June (HS): In a strong example of community responsibility and public awareness, residents of Boloma village in Naobaicha apprehended an alleged cannabis supplier identified as Akbar and handed him over to the police on Sunday.
According to local sources, the accused had reportedly been supplying cannabis and other intoxicating substances to youths in the area, raising concerns among residents about the growing threat of drug abuse and its impact on the younger generation.
Acting collectively to protect their community, villagers detained the suspected supplier and immediately informed the police, who later took him into custody for further investigation.
