Delhi/Bratislava, 15 June (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and Iran to end the conflict in West Asia and expressed hope that it would help restore peace and stability in the region.

In a post on X during his ongoing overseas visit, the Prime Minister said the conflict had caused significant economic disruption across the world and resulted in loss of life in several countries.

I welcome the understanding reached between the United States and Iran on ending the conflict in West Asia, which has caused serious economic disruption across the world and led to loss of life in many countries, PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that implementation of the understanding would help restore peace and stability in the region and ensure freedom of navigation and commerce.

He also said India looked forward to discussions on the remaining issues leading to a sustainable final agreement.
