
Imphal, 14 June (HS): Newly appointed Manipur Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Singh (IPS) on Saturday visited Churachandpur district for the first time after assuming office and reviewed the prevailing law-and-order situation with security and civil authorities.
During the visit, the DGP held meetings with district police officials, personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Assam Rifles and representatives of various civil society organisations (CSOs). He lauded the coordinated efforts of security agencies in maintaining peace and stability in the district.
Mukesh Singh also appreciated the district police for their success in cracking down on criminal activities, including the seizure of narcotics, arrest of armed offenders and recovery of illegal weapons. He urged security personnel to continue taking proactive and lawful measures to ensure public safety and prevent any disturbance to normalcy.
Interacting with members of civil society organisations, the DGP heard their concerns and assured them that appropriate legal action would be taken whenever required to protect the interests of the public. He also appealed to community leaders to actively support peace-building efforts and promote communal harmony across the state.
The visit concluded with discussions on enhancing cooperation between security forces and local communities, with a focus on strengthening peace, security, and mutual trust in Churachandpur district.----------
