25 May (HS): US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is on a four-day visit to
India, reached Agra on Monday by a special aircraft as per his pre-planned
programme and along with his wife admired the beauty of the Taj Mahal.
US
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is on a visit to India since Saturday. On
Monday, he arrived at the Kheria Air Force Station in Agra with his wife,
Jeanette Rubio, by special aircraft at around 9:30 am. From there, his convoy
went straight to the Taj Mahal's Shilpgram. Marco and his wife arrived at the
Taj Mahal's eastern gate in a golf cart and entered the Taj Mahal complex on
foot through the eastern gate. Some members of the delegation were also with
them.
Enthralled
by the Taj Mahal's beauty, Marco Rubio, along with his wife, Jeanette, captured
these beautiful moments on the Diana Bench. Guide Nitin Gupta accompanied Marco
Rubio on a tour of the Taj Mahal, providing information about its construction
and history.
After
visiting the Taj Mahal, Marco Rubio left for a short rest and lunch at a
five-star hotel in Agra. He will then depart Agra for Jaipur. According to
reports, Marco Rubio will arrive at Kheria Airport with his entourage at around
12:30 pm from the hotel and will fly to Jaipur at 1:00 pm.
During
the US Secretary of State's visit to Agra, the US security team, along with the
Agra police and administration, have made adequate security arrangements.
Intelligence agencies are also on high alert. Police have been deployed at
every nook and corner, from Kheria Airport to the Taj Mahal and from the Taj
Mahal to Hotel Amar Vilas.
