Hooghly, 25 May (H.S.): In a special initiative to support police personnel working relentlessly during the intense heatwave, the Hooghly Rural Police on Monday distributed summer kits among traffic police personnel, civic volunteers, home guards, and constables at a programme held at the office of the Superintendent of Police.

According to police sources, the initiative was taken to provide some relief and essential assistance to personnel who spend long hours working on roads and in open areas during the scorching summer. The summer kits contained various useful items suitable for the season, which are expected to help them perform their daily duties more comfortably.

Speaking at the event, Superintendent of Police Kumar Sunny Raj praised the dedication and hard work of police personnel. He said that despite the extreme heat, they have continued to perform their responsibilities sincerely by maintaining law and order, controlling traffic, and ensuring public safety.

The SP also appreciated the role played by police personnel during the recent election and pre-election period, commending them for carrying out their duties with efficiency and professionalism. He urged them to continue working with the same commitment in the future.

The initiative generated enthusiasm among the police personnel, and officials present at the programme said such recognition from the administration would further boost their morale.
