Hooghly, 25 May (H.S.): A crucial meeting was held at the Irrigation Department office on Monday to review the progress of river embankment repairs, concrete bridge construction, and various irrigation-related development projects ahead of the upcoming monsoon season. The meeting was attended by Arambagh MLA Hemanta Bag along with departmental officials.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the current status of repair and restoration work on several river embankments to prevent possible flooding and erosion during the monsoon. The progress of under-construction concrete bridges in different areas was also reviewed to ensure safe transportation for residents.

MLA Hemanta Bag said discussions were held with officials regarding the nature of work being carried out in various locations and the projects that require immediate completion. He stressed the importance of completing development projects within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality standards.

He further stated that necessary instructions had been given to the administration to ensure that development work in Arambagh is completed properly and on time in the interest of the people. He also urged officials to work proactively to finish critical infrastructure projects before the onset of the monsoon.

Several issues related to river embankment protection, bridge construction, and the improvement of irrigation systems were discussed during the meeting. Officials also reiterated their commitment to continuing developmental work in the interest of the public.
