Guwahati, 25 May (HS): Assam BJP MLA Sushanta Borgohain on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Congress over the delay in appointing the Leader of Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly.

Targeting the opposition party, Borgohain said a party “whose leaders can imprison their own father to become king” would naturally face difficulties in selecting a Leader of Opposition. He further remarked that the Congress legislature party continues to remain divided over the issue of leadership inside the Assembly.

His statement comes amid continuing uncertainty within the Congress regarding the selection of its legislature party leader and Leader of Opposition after the Assembly elections. Political discussions over the post have intensified, with the party yet to announce a final decision.---------------
