Bhubaneswar, 20 May (H.S.): Odisha Vigilance has arrested Bhubaneswar Sabar, Executive Engineer (EE) of the R&B Sub-Division, Dharmagarh and in-charge EE of the R&B Division, Bhawanipatana, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
According to Vigilance officials, Bhubaneswar Sabar was found in possession of substantial movable and immovable assets allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income during searches conducted at multiple locations linked to him.
The assets unearthed during the raids include five buildings, of which four are multi-storeyed structures, 83 acres of land spread across 97 plots, two farm houses covering around 17 acres, and a market complex comprising eight cabins, among other properties. Officials stated that the accused failed to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the acquisition of these assets.
Following the investigation, Odisha Vigilance registered Koraput Vigilance Police Station Case No. 07/2026 against Bhubaneswar Sabar under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
The arrested engineer is scheduled to be produced before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatana, later in the day.
Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
