Raebareli,
20 May (HS): Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, called Prime Minister Narendra
Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the RSS traitors on Wednesday for constantly
assaulting the Constitution and selling the country's interests to chosen
industrialists. The Raebareli MP's vehement condemnation came on the second day
of his visit to his area. He
was speaking at a 'Bahujan Swabhiman Sabha' in Raebareli to commemorate local
revolutionary Veera Pasi.
You'll
have to get up and fight. When RSS volunteers visit your house and speak about
Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, you must inform them that their organization,
Modi, and Shah are traitors. They have worked to sell our nation and assaulted
our Constitution, Ambedkarji and Mahatma Gandhi, he declared during the
gathering.
The
BJP condemned his words as a reflection of his anarchic attitude and
personality.
At
the gathering, Gandhi accused the prime minister of undermining the
Constitution by weakening MNREGA, failing to perform a caste census, and
favoring some industrialists.
He
also cited Modi's recent request to reduce fuel usage, gold purchases, and
international travel as a warning of an impending economic storm. In the
following months, inflation will skyrocket. He stated that the prices of petrol,
diesel, gas, and food grains will all increase.
Gandhi
stated that the battle between Iran and the United States will cause a
significant economic shock owing to disruptions in world oil supplies. You may
never have witnessed such inflation in your lifetime.
He
stated that while farmers may face fertilizer shortages and fuel supplies may
be affected, the economic impact will not affect Ambani or Adani, but rather
regular folks. The opposition leader in the Lok Sabha claimed that people were
guaranteed before to the elections that there would be no lack of petrol and
gas and that fuel prices would not rise, but that has now changed. Today, as
petrol prices rise, Ambani exports petroleum outside of India. He buys oil from
Russia and sells it overseas, and the proceeds are used to finance Narendra
Modi, he claimed. Gandhi stated that the government would be unable to shield
the people from the impending catastrophe, the consequences of which would be
apparent in two to three months.
Narendra
Modi will cry on television, just like he did during Covid and demonetisation,
claiming it was not his responsibility. But I'm telling you that the guilt lies
with Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and the RSS for destroying the Constitution, he
claimed. Gandhi also chastised Modi for departing on a five-nation tour shortly
after issuing a plea to the public not to travel overseas. Earlier, he stated
that commemorating Ambedkar, Veera Pasi, and Mahatma Gandhi was only relevant
if their ideologies were safeguarded. Simply folding hands before their statues
is insufficient. He argued that acting against their philosophy has no
relevance. Gandhi said that India's principles of equality and justice must be
upheld together.
Veera
Pasis, Ambedkars, and Gandhis of the twenty-first century will emerge from
among you. They will not appear from the sky, he added. Gandhi went on to
criticize Modi, saying he grabbed all of the money from people's purses and
houses. He said that Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and the RSS had undermined
constitutional protections relating to the public sector, reservation, and
independent judiciary, as well as the concept of a free and independent media. Gandhi
claimed that Modi handed over India's economic structure to Adani and Ambani,
as well as the United States. He accused the Union government of privatizing
the public sector and installing RSS-linked vice-chancellors who, he claimed,
lacked understanding of science, history, and geography and were picked only
for their ideological beliefs.
The
Congress leader claimed that the Constitution, which guarantees one person, one
vote, is being subverted by extra rigorous scrutiny of election registers and
the deletion of crores of ballots. Those who do not vote for them are being
deleted from the voter rolls. He claimed that the Constitution is being
attacked 24 hours a day. But the truth is surfacing, and no one will be spared,
he continued. Earlier in his speech, the Congress leader stated that the
Constitution is not just any text, but one that embodies the ideologies of
Ambedkar, Veera Pasi, and Mahatma Gandhi. It states that India belongs to
everyone, not just any caste, person, millionaire, or organisation, he
remarked.
Gandhi
claimed that in 2016, while demonetising large banknotes, Modi made an
impassioned plea to the public and promised to bring back blck money, but
little came of it. He
threatened to 'hang me if black money is not removed'. But was black money
eliminated? He inquired. During the
lockdown, he claimed, migrant laborers faced enormous losses, but
industrialists' loans worth millions of crores of rupees were forgiven. And the
same thing will happen again. The Congress leader encouraged people to
safeguard the Constitution, saying that slogans alone would not be effective. Simply
folding your hands will not help. You will have to remain firm and fight, he
stated.
