
Kolkata, 20 May (H.S.) : A new panel of government lawyers has been constituted at the Calcutta High Court following the formation of the new government in West Bengal, marking a significant reshuffle in the state’s legal representation system.
According to an official notification, senior advocate Rajdeep Majumdar has been appointed as the Additional Advocate General and will assume charge with immediate effect until further orders.
At the same time, Kallol Mondal has been appointed as the Public Prosecutor for the state.
In other appointments, advocate Nilanjan Bhattacharya has been named Senior Standing Counsel, while advocate Divyendra Narayan has been appointed as Government Pleader.
All the new appointments came into effect from Wednesday.
Official sources said the restructuring of the legal panel is aimed at strengthening administrative coordination in judicial matters and ensuring more effective representation of the state government before the High Court.
