New Delhi, May 20 (H.S.): Members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Wednesday staged a protest outside the National Testing Agency office in Okhla over alleged irregularities and the NEET paper leak controversy. As a symbolic act of protest and mourning, several NSUI workers shaved their heads during the demonstration.
The protest was held against the alleged failure of the examination system and what the organisation described as the government’s inability to ensure fair and transparent examinations for millions of students across the country.
NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar said that the act of shaving heads was not merely symbolic sacrifice of hair, but represented the pain, anger, and frustration of lakhs of students whose futures, according to him, are being destroyed due to corruption and inefficiency in the examination system. He added that repeated paper leaks have completely eroded the trust of students and parents.
He further alleged that from the NEET paper leak controversy to issues surrounding the CBSE OMR system and disputes over the three-language policy, the Ministry of Education has consistently failed students. He demanded that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan take moral responsibility and resign immediately.
Jakhar also said that the National Testing Agency has lost credibility and should be dissolved. He reiterated NSUI’s demands for a fair and transparent investigation into the NEET paper leak, the immediate resignation of the Education Minister, the dissolution of the NTA, and accountability for repeated examination failures affecting students nationwide.
