
New Delhi, 20 May (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday announced the launch of the “Talent Hunt Scheme – Hauslon Ki Udaan 2026-27.” Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the initiative would serve as a powerful platform to identify, nurture, and elevate the talents of Delhi’s youth to the national level.
During a press conference held at Jan Seva Sadan, the Chief Minister also unveiled the official logo of the ambitious scheme. She stated that the logo symbolises the dreams, creativity, and soaring confidence of Delhi’s youth. Delhi Government’s Minister for Art, Culture and Language Kapil Mishra was also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that the objective of the scheme is not merely to discover talent, but also to create a platform for Delhi’s youth that promotes accessibility, inclusivity, diversity, and opportunities for self-employment and self-reliance among talented individuals. She added that the initiative would provide equal opportunities to youth from different social and economic backgrounds while giving new direction to their creative potential.
She informed that the scheme will be implemented across all 70 Assembly constituencies of Delhi, with a budget allocation of ₹10 crore. More than 25,000 youths are expected to participate at different stages of the programme. The entire process will be conducted in a transparent, systematic, and phased manner to ensure equal opportunity for every participant.
Youth between the ages of 16 and 35 can register free of cost for the scheme starting Wednesday through the dedicated online portal, [www.delhitalenthunt.com](http://www.delhitalenthunt.com). The portal will also provide registration facilities, programme details, and regular updates.
Competitions to be Held in Seven Categories
The competition will be organised across seven major categories. The singing category will include classical, folk, and non-classical music. The dance category will feature classical, folk, and contemporary/non-classical dance performances.
Apart from these, participants will also get opportunities to showcase their talent in Fine Art and Digital Art, Sculpture and Pottery, Music Composition, Instrumental Music, and Acting and Theatre.
Four-Stage Selection Process
The Chief Minister said that the programme will be conducted in four phases.
In the first phase, online registration and screening/shortlisting of applications across all seven categories will take place. Around 24,500 participants from all 70 Assembly constituencies of Delhi will be selected for the next round.
In the second phase, 35 cluster-level competitions will be organised, with each cluster comprising two Assembly constituencies. A total of 2,450 participants across different categories will be selected in this stage.
In the third phase, four zonal-level competitions will be held for shortlisted candidates, where the best participants from each category will be selected.
The final phase will culminate in a state-level grand finale in August featuring 28 finalists. Winners across all seven categories will receive prize money, while every finalist participant will also be honoured.
Public Voting and Jury Evaluation
The Chief Minister stated that participant evaluation will include 25 per cent weightage from public online voting and 75 per cent weightage from expert jury evaluation. The jury panel will consist of experienced and renowned experts from the respective fields.
She added that the grand finale will be organised on a grand scale, with famous Bollywood artists and celebrities also expected to attend.
Cash Prizes and Recognition for Winners
Participants securing first place will receive a cash prize of ₹2.5 lakh, while the second-place winner will receive ₹2 lakh. The third-place winner will be awarded ₹1.5 lakh, and the fourth-place participant will receive ₹1 lakh.
In addition, all selected participants and outstanding performers will be honoured with certificates, awards, shields, and medals.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that “Hauslon Ki Udaan” is not merely a talent search programme, but a platform for Delhi’s youth to establish their identity before the nation and the world. She added that, in the future, these talented youths would also be associated as “brand ambassadors” for various social campaigns so they can become agents of positive social change.
Appealing to the youth, she urged them to give new wings to their dreams and make the maximum use of the Delhi Government’s platform.
Minister Kapil Mishra said that the national capital is fully prepared for a large-scale initiative like “Delhi Talent Hunt – Hauslon Ki Udaan.” He stated that in line with the vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India), the initiative will provide Delhi’s youth with a golden opportunity to showcase their art, creativity, and talent on a major platform and pave the way toward self-reliance.
He added that the objective of Delhi Talent Hunt is not only to discover talent but also to provide proper guidance, recognition, and opportunities to deserving participants.
