Amroha,

20 May (HS): A WagonR vehicle rammed into a truck on National Highway-9 in the

Amroha area early Wednesday morning, killing four people and critically

injuring two more, according to police. Around

4 a.m., the accident occurred near the Nayara petrol pump in Khyalipur Dhal,

close to the Gajraula police station. According to police, the incident caused

the automobile to be severely twisted. Circle Officer Anjali Kataria stated the

fatalities comprised the automobile driver Mohammad Salman, a Rampur native,

and three passengers identified as Naseem, Haris, and Mashooq, all of whom were

from West Bengal's Malda district. According to police, the victims were

madrasa students from Varanasi who had lately visited Bareilly.

They

were traveling to Delhi in various automobiles and were about to catch a train

to Varanasi from the national capital when the catastrophe occurred. According

to authorities, two people died on the scene, while two more died from injuries

while on their way to the hospital. The injured, Sunnat and Hasnain, both from

Malda in West Bengal, were taken to a more advanced medical facility in severe

condition. Kataria said the automobile was thought to be traveling at high

speeds, and the driver may have dozed off, leading the vehicle to lose control

and collide with the truck ahead. However, she stated that authorities were

exploring all options and reviewing technical data before reaching a

determination.

The

collision created traffic delays on the highway for some time. Police arrived

at the scene, sent the deceased for post-mortem, and transported the injured to

the hospital for treatment.

Police are looking for the truck driver, who fled the site following the crash,

according to police.
