New Delhi, 02 May (H.S.): Two FIRs have been registered in Punjab against Rajya Sabha member Sandeep Pathak, who recently defected from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP has targeted the Bhagwant Mann government, branding the move as an act driven by vindictive sentiment.
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, in a media interaction on Saturday, questioned Punjab's law and order situation, noting that Punjab Police attempted to raid Pathak's residence even as the state's security apparatus remains in dire straits.
Under the AAP regime, he asserted, the police are forgoing efforts to curb crime in favor of such politically motivated operations.
Trivedi remarked that public resentment against the Bhagwant Mann government is mounting. This frustration, despair, and anger, he claimed, has precipitated retaliatory measures. He demanded answers from Arvind Kejriwal, casting doubt on AAP's professed commitment to new politics.
