(HS): Nashik’s fraudster Ashok Kharat has against been remanded to police custody
for four days on Friday in the Rs five crore cheating case. The petitioner has
alleged that he cheated him showing a live snake which could result in his
death.
Kharat was
presented in the court through video conferencing o Friday. Following a brief hearing
the Court remanded him police custody for four days. The petitioner Rajendra
Ashok Jasud, a businessman in logistics had approached Kharat for his guidance
in his business improvement. Kharat had advised him to perform a puja and
threatened him of death if the rituals are not performed. He extracted Rs 5
crore from him. Kharat showed a fake snake during the rituals to threaten him.
Realising cheating
by Kharat, Jasud approached Nashik police and lodged a complaint.
Investigations into the financial fraud is in progress. The Court granted police
custody to Kharat for his interrogation in the case.
