Guwahati, 02 May (HS): The special court has deferred its verdict on the bail plea of prime accused Sidharth Sharma in the Zubeen Garg murder case to May 4. The order was earlier reserved after completion of the hearing, initially scheduled to be pronounced on May 2, but has now been postponed.

It may be mentioned that the court proceedings related to charge framing in the case are set to conclude today, with all the accused submissions their written arguments before the court. Following this, no further hearings on charge framing will take place again.

As per provisions under the BNSS, the court is required to deliver its decision on charge framing within the next two months.

Notably, the bail plea of another key accused, Shyamkanu Mahanta, was rejected by the court on April 30. The judicial process in the case is currently progressing.-----------
