Lucknow,

19 May (HS): A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Lok

Bhavan, Lucknow, approved a crucial proposal for land transfer for the

construction of a metro station and viaduct section on Metro Corridor II (Agra

Cantt to Kalindi Vihar) under the Agra Metro Rail Project. State Higher

Education Minister and Agra South MLA Yogendra Upadhyay expressed his gratitude

to the Chief Minister for this decision, calling it a major gift for the

citizens of Agra.

The

Higher Education Minister stated that the construction of the proposed metro

corridor from Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar will reduce traffic congestion in the

city, save time, and promote environmental protection. Under the leadership of

the Yogi government, continuous work is underway to equip Agra with world-class

urban infrastructure. The Agra Metro project will not only modernize the city's

transportation system but will also provide fast, safe, and convenient travel

for tourists and local citizens.

It

is noteworthy that 550 square meters of vacant land, available as a park in the

Regional Employment Office complex located in Mauja Chak Aawal, Tehsil Sadar,

Khasra No. 618, Nazul Plot No. 1619, will be transferred to the Uttar Pradesh

Metro Rail Corporation Limited for the construction of a metro station and

viaduct. This land will be allotted free of charge, subject to prescribed

conditions and restrictions, with a discount on the circle rate.
