the Congress MP for Raebareli, will attend a public gathering in Raebareli on
Tuesday. He landed at Lucknow Airport and was greeted by UP Congress Chief Ajay
Rai, Congress Legislative Party Leader Aradhana Mishra, and other leaders. A
big crowd of party workers had assembled at the airport to greet him. Gandhi
then moved on to Raebareli. Pankaj Tiwari, the Congress district president of
Raebareli, stated that Gandhi will open a marriage hall at Thakurain Kheda,
Bachhrawan, on the first day. He will next address a public assembly in Khiron.
In Lalganj, he will take part in a'mahila samvaad' programme.
He
went on to say that on May 20, he will meet folks at the 'Janata Darshan'
session at Bhuyemau Guest House. Following that, he will attend a public
gathering in Lodhwari and the unveiling of the Veera Pasi monument. The
Congress leader will thereafter go for Amethi. Congress district unit chief
Pradeep Singhal said that he will meet with party functionaries, workers, and
senior leaders at the party's district headquarters in Amethi.
According
to political watchers, this gathering will be part of the strategic
preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, combined with an
organizational review. The
meeting's discussions will most likely center on strengthening the party at the
booth level, enhancing youth and women workers' engagement, and accelerating
public outreach initiatives in villages.
According
to reports, a considerable number of party members from the Gram Sabha to the
district level have been invited to the conference. Gandhi is anticipated to
interact personally with the workers. During the one-day tour, the Congress
leader will also visit Poore Ramdeen Pandit, the hometown of late Congress
district president Yogendra Mishra, to meet with family members. Mishra, a
close member of the Gandhi family, died on March 1 from a protracted illness. Political
activity in the district has increased in anticipation of Gandhi's visit, and
party activists have begun to plan his greeting. Kishori Lal Sharma, the
Congress MP for Amethi, is also conducting frequent meetings with local leaders
and officials to evaluate the preparations.
