
New Delhi, May 19 (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Major General (Retd.) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri.
In a post shared on social media platform X on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the passing of the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, former Uttarakhand Chief Minister, and former Union Minister was deeply saddening.
She stated that Khanduri devoted his entire life to the values of national service, simplicity, discipline, and good governance, adding that his personality and public life would always remain a source of inspiration.
Rekha Gupta also prayed for peace for the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
Notably, Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri passed away in Dehradun on Tuesday morning at the age of 92. He breathed his last at around 11:15 a.m. at Max Hospital, where he had been admitted nearly 15 days ago due to age-related health complications.
His daughter, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, is currently the Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, while his son, Manish Khanduri, is associated with the BJP as a party worker.
