
Bhubaneswar, 19 May (H.S.): Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who arrived in Odisha to attend a regional agriculture conference, visited the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri on Tuesday and offered prayers to Lord Jagannath. His wife also accompanied him during the visit.
After having darshan of the deities, Chouhan prayed for peace, prosperity and happiness for all. “May the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath continue to shower upon everyone. May every household be filled with prosperity and abundance, and may people lead lives full of happiness, peace and joy,” he said.
The Union Minister further stated that he prayed for the well-being, good health and welfare of all people, along with an end to the ongoing conflicts across the world.
Speaking about the regional agriculture conference, Chouhan said that the meeting involving Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal would focus on key issues such as food security, enhancement of farmers’ income and effective implementation of welfare schemes.
He added that discussions would also be held on increasing the production of pulses and oilseeds, while exploring ways to make farming more profitable for small and marginal farmers through integrated farming practices.
