Pune, 19 May (HS): Tree Bangladeshi national were arrested at

Pune Airport, when they were trying to flee to Guwahati in Assam. The three

included two women and a minor boy. Khadak Police with Airport Police arrested

the three, who have been named as Shahinoor Begum Sheikh (42), Shagurika Begum

Yulia Sheikh (28 and Tipu alias Murad Ahmad Sheikh (16 years and nine months).

They are residents of Bigarat district of Bangladesh.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has launched

a special drive to detect Bangladeshis living illegally in Pune. Deputy

Commissioner of Police Rishikesh Raole informed the media that information

about the three moving to Guwahati was received through a police informer,

following which action was initiated. Senior Police Inspector Shashikant Chavan

led a team who rushed to the airport and apprehended the three. During the last

ten months 97 Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested from Zone-1 of Pune.
