
Patna, 18 May (H.S.): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday said that Punjab has shown the entire country the path to protecting the honour of the Gurus by enacting the strictest law against beadbi (sacrilege).
After paying obeisance at Takht Sri Patna Sahib, the sacred birthplace of the tenth Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Mann said that the Punjab government was committed to preserving the sanctity of Guru Granth Sahib and ensuring strict punishment for anyone attempting to hurt religious sentiments.
The Chief Minister said beadbi is an unforgivable crime against the faith of millions and appealed to all state governments across the country to introduce similarly stringent laws. He asserted that Punjab was ready to extend full support in this regard.
Mann said that anyone found guilty of committing beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab would now face life imprisonment, sending a strong message that such acts would not be tolerated.
After offering prayers, the Chief Minister said he prayed for the prosperity, well-being, and Chardi Kala of Punjab, Punjabis, and the Sikh community worldwide. He added that the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji continue to inspire humanity toward truth, compassion, and universal brotherhood.
Mann said he also prayed for communal harmony, peace, and brotherhood to grow stronger and for Punjab to continue leading the country in every sphere. He added that the visit left him spiritually rejuvenated and strengthened his commitment to serving the people of Punjab with dedication.
Chief Secretary KAP Sinha and other officials accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
