Guwahati, 18 May (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again showcased India’s strong global leadership, diplomatic success and development-oriented vision through his recent visits to the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands and Sweden. The visits are being seen as a major step towards strengthening India’s strategic, economic and technological partnerships with leading nations across the world.
State BJP media panelist Priyanka Tamuli, in a press statement, said that during his UAE visit, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on the UAE and reiterated India’s firm stand against terrorism before the global community. She further stated that PM Modi expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership for ensuring the safety and welfare of the Indian diaspora residing there. According to her, the visit would further deepen the friendship and brotherhood between India and the UAE.
Highlighting the Netherlands visit, Tamuli said several important discussions were held to accelerate progress on the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement. New avenues of cooperation were explored in areas such as semiconductors, water resource management, clean energy, innovation and advanced technologies. She mentioned that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Tata Electronics and ASML in the presence of Dutch leadership would significantly strengthen the vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” in India’s semiconductor sector.
She added that the upcoming semiconductor project at Dholera is expected to create major employment opportunities for the youth while opening new possibilities in cutting-edge technology sectors. Stress was also laid on adopting the Netherlands’ expertise in water management to modernise flood control, irrigation systems, maintenance and inland waterway development in India. The visit further elevated India-Netherlands relations to a strategic partnership with a long-term roadmap covering semiconductors, innovation, defence, sustainability and mobility sectors.
Referring to the Sweden visit, Tamuli said Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson personally receiving the Indian delegation at the airport reflected the growing global trust and respect towards India. During the visit, Prime Minister Modi was conferred with the “Royal Order of the Polar Star, Degree Commander Grand Cross”, regarded as one of Sweden’s highest honours. She described the award as a matter of pride not only for PM Modi but for all 140 crore Indians.
At an industrial summit held in Gothenburg, discussions focused on enhancing India-Sweden cooperation in artificial intelligence, research, healthcare, security and advanced technology sectors. Addressing the European Round Table for Industry (ERT), PM Modi highlighted India’s reform-driven development journey and the immense opportunities India offers for global investment.
The statement further said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has emerged as a strong and trusted nation on the global stage. These foreign visits, it added, would provide fresh momentum to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” while taking India’s relations with leading countries to new heights.----------
