
Guwahati, 18 May (HS): The National Science Centre, Guwahati celebrated International Museum Day 2026 with the inauguration of a new “Orchid and Cactus Garden” and a series of educational and cultural activities.
The garden was inaugurated by Dr. Ashiho A. Mao, who highlighted the importance of museums in preserving knowledge and culture. The programme was also attended by Khyanjeet Gogoi and Science Centre Director Sujay Majumder.
Marking this year’s theme, “Museums Uniting a Divided World,” the event featured a cultural performance by Upashana Nrityangan, student competitions, an open house quiz and an evening sky observation session. Entry to the Science Centre remained free for visitors throughout the day.-----------
