Amritsar, 18 May (H.S.): The 181 Battalion of the Border Security Force organised a weapon exhibition for students of Mahant Kaushal Das DAV Public School, Neshta, at Border Out Post Kahangarh in the Amritsar sector.

The exhibition was held from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 550 students. The event was conducted under the supervision of Commandant Parminder Singh and Second-in-Command Gurdeep Sandhu, along with three officers, seven subordinate officers and 23 other ranks.

During the programme, students were shown a wide range of weapons and equipment used by BSF personnel in border security operations. The exhibition provided them with a firsthand understanding of the force’s discipline, professionalism and operational responsibilities.

A documentary highlighting the role and achievements of the BSF was also screened for the students and school staff.

Addressing the gathering, Commandant Parminder Singh explained the crucial role played by the BSF in protecting the country’s borders. He also emphasized the importance of discipline, awareness and patriotism, and informed students about career opportunities available in the force. The event inspired students with a strong sense of national pride and appreciation for the dedication of India’s border guards.
