Guwahati, 18 May (HS): Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said the state’s mining sector has moved beyond a phase of mere potential and is now emerging as a new engine of growth. CM Sarma has shared a social media post in this regard.
According to the Chief Minister, the central support will accelerate the expansion of production capacity, modernization of mining systems and strengthening of the state’s revenue generation. He said these steps will help transform the mineral sector into a key contributor to Assam’s economic progress.
The Chief Minister added that by ensuring the scientific and efficient use of natural resources, the state is steadily advancing towards building a self-reliant and prosperous Assam.
