Jammu, 17 May (H.S.): On second day of historic Moungri Mela -2026, thousands of devotees thronged the holy Shiv-Parvati caves shrine and paid obeisance.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG-P) Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma graced the mela as chief guest. The other dignitaries present on the occasion included SSP Benam Tosh ( Deputy Director SKPAU ) , CMO Udhampur Dr Anil Manhas , Tehsildar Moungri Arushi Sabharwal, DySP Kulbir Choudhary , BMO Panchari Shafqat Javed , BDO Moungri Rajat Sudan , Principal GHSS Moungri Mohan Lal , SHO Panchari DySP (Prob.) Reetu Sharma , Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defense Udhampur Swatantra Dev Kotwal and several other civil & Police officers .

Tehsildar Moungri, as “Mela Officer “, briefed the senior officers regarding history and significance of three-day Moungri Mela which is organized every year by District Administration Udhampur with the exhibitions & awareness stalls installed by almost all the major departments of the Government, banks and social organizations .

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma exhorted the youth to stay away from drugs and appealed to the people to participate in the vigorous anti-drugs campaign launched by the LG J&K to make Jammu and Kashmir UT drug- free. He further said that adequate police security arrangements are being made to ensure that all big public events are concluded peacefully without any untoward incident and people feel safe & secure.
