
Bhubaneswar, 17 May (H.S.): Students of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandirs, functioning under Shiksha Vikas Samiti, Odisha, have achieved remarkable success in this year’s Class 10 board examinations. To honour their achievement, a felicitation ceremony for meritorious students was organised on Sunday at the Institute of Minerals and Technology campus in Bhubaneswar.
Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond attended the programme as the chief guest. Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, Srikant Tarai, attended as the guest of honour, while Vidya Bharati regional general secretary Deshraj Sharma addressed the gathering as the keynote speaker. The event was presided over by Dr. Kishore Chandra Mohanty, president of Shiksha Vikas Samiti, Odisha.
During the ceremony, students who secured top ranks in the state were felicitated along with their parents and school principals. Among them were Parthasarathi Mahanta of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Baripada, Mayurbhanj, and Aniket Patra of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Soro, Balasore, who emerged as joint state toppers with 588 marks.
The organisers also highlighted that all students of the Shishu Vidya Mandirs passed the examination with more than 60 percent marks. Principals and members of the school management committees were also honoured for their contribution to academic excellence.
On the occasion, a commemorative booklet titled “Krititwa Barnika”, featuring the achievements of meritorious students, was unveiled.
Dr. Saroj Kumar Hati, secretary of Shiksha Vikas Samiti, Odisha, introduced the guests, while organisation secretary Tarak Das Sarkar delivered the welcome address. Provincial Examination Coordinator Manoj Kumar Das conducted the programme and former divisional secretary Pankaj Kumar Kar proposed the vote of thanks.
