Kolkata, 17 May (H.S.): West Bengal Rural Development and Animal Resources Development Minister Dilip Ghosh on Sunday said the state government would not tolerate any encroachment on government land and warned that illegal constructions would be demolished.

Addressing reporters in Kharagpur, Ghosh said the newly formed government had launched a drive against encroachment soon after assuming office.

“We will not tolerate any kind of encroachment on government land. Wherever illegal constructions are found, bulldozers will be used,” the minister said.

He said the process against illegal structures had already begun from the first day of the new government’s tenure.

Ghosh also appealed to people involved in unauthorised activities to function within the framework of the law.

“I appeal to all those involved in such activities to carry out their work within legal limits. The government will fully cooperate with them,” he added.
