Bhubaneswar, 16 May (H.S.) : In light of concerns regarding potential increases in edible oil prices, the Traders' Association is urging the public to refrain from panic buying and unnecessary stockpiling of essential commodities.
General Secretary Sudhakar Panda emphasized that there is a sufficient supply of essential goods in the market and no imminent risk of significant price hikes. He encouraged consumers to remain calm and not to respond to unfounded rumors.
Panda also mentioned that market stability would be maintained if the government ensures smooth transportation services. However, some transport agencies are currently requesting higher fees, which could lead to increased operational costs.
He cautioned that any rise in transportation costs would ultimately affect consumers. Nevertheless, he reassured the public that there is an adequate stock of essential commodities, and there is no need for panic over supply shortages or sudden price increases.
