New Delhi, 16 May (H.S.): The preliminary results of the ‘Best District Magistrate-2026’ survey released by Fame India Magazine and Asia Post include nearly 100 district magistrates from across the country.
Prepared on the basis of better administration, public interest, development work, innovation, crisis management and effective governance, the list features several celebrated and popular district magistrates.
Fame India said the list was prepared after an extensive study of the work of officers serving in nearly 800 districts across the country. The selection process was based primarily on expert opinion, ground reports, media analysis and public feedback.
In the survey, officers were evaluated on 10 key parameters, including outstanding administrative capability, effective governance, quick decision-making, sensitivity, accountability, public communication and a development-oriented approach.
The preliminary list includes district magistrates from several states, including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, West Bengal, Punjab, Bihar, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
Among the prominent names on the list are Rajasthan cadre IAS officer Tina Dabi, Uttar Pradesh’s Ravindra Kumar and Vishak G. Iyer, Bihar’s Vaibhav Srivastava and Vivek Ranjan Matreya, Jharkhand’s Manjunath Bhajantri, Maharashtra’s Saurabh Katiyar and Haryana’s Neha Singh.
In addition, AGMUT cadre officers Ankit Yadav, Lakshya Singhal, Mekala Chaitanya Prasad, Vishakha Yadav, Saloni Rai and Sunny Kumar Singh have also been included in the list.
Anil Singh, Managing Editor of Fame India, said on Saturday that the purpose of this initiative is to honour and recognise district magistrates who have made a distinct mark through better administration and public-interest work even in challenging circumstances. He said a detailed stakeholder survey had been conducted of the selected officers, and district magistrates who performed excellently in various categories would be featured prominently in a special issue of Fame India.
Singh also said the survey was prepared not merely on the basis of popularity, but by taking into account the officers’ actual work, administrative efficiency and active engagement with the public.
